Neighborhood Month - Picnic 2005

"Honoring Our Armed Forces"

Armed Forces Day

See pictures below

Westview Lakes participated in the City of Hampton's Neighborhood Month by having an Association Picnic / Armed Forces Day Recognition as our theme for 2005.  The event was held on Saturday, May 21st from 1:00 pm—4:00 pm.   The picnic was declared a success. Attendance was over 3 times that of an annual meeting.   A good time was had by all, especially the children.  The City of Hampton provided grant funds to help pay for our picnic, so a minimal amount of Association funds was required.

A Jungle Moonwalk with a slide was rented for the children.  I was a huge hit with the younger set.  We had hamburger and hot dogs cooked on the grill, ice cold watermelon and a very large cake.  Even with all the people that came and ate and ate and ate.....we still had plenty of food.

We awarded 2 door prizes, both donated by a Corporate Sponsor, Salon At Yorktown.

Le Anh Zeno of Westview Drive won a free pedicure

Richard Hill of Kincaid Lane won a free 1 hour massage

Our thanks go out to the Salon At Yorktown

I would like to recognize the members of the committee that contributed long hard hours between meetings, preparations, shopping and the actual event:

Additional people that participated making the day a success were:

We sincerely hope that future endeavors will increase Association participation.
